Professional Growth:

The Detail Behind the Welcome; What Housekeeping Taught Me About Excellence

We often think hospitality is all about the smile we see. My internship in housekeeping taught me that true excellence is often found in the details guests don't see. Learning the meticulous process of preparing a room to 5-star standards wasn't just about cleaning; it was about crafting a perfect, seamless experience from the moment a guest walks in.

This role ingrained in me a powerful lesson: every department is a pillar holding up the guest's entire stay. A flawlessly made bed and a spotless bathroom are as crucial to guest satisfaction as a friendly check-in. It taught me discipline, attention to detail, and pride in back-of-house operations. This foundation has made me a more respectful and effective team member in my current F&B role, because I understand and value the work that happens across the entire hotel to create that magic.

Career Aspirations:

Beyond the Plate; Connecting Service to a Sustainable Future

Working in a busy restaurant, you see a lot: the joy of a celebration, the focus of a business lunch, and unfortunately, the amount of waste generated. This daily view has sharpened my interest in the future of hospitality, specifically in sustainability.

I'm no longer just thinking about how to serve a meal perfectly, but about where the ingredients come from, how we manage food waste, and the energy we consume. My career aspiration is to evolve from providing excellent service to helping shape hotels that are leaders in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. I believe the next level of luxury and service is "conscious hospitality," where amazing guest experiences go hand-in-hand with positive global impact. This is the challenge I am eager to help tackle as I grow into future leadership roles.

Thank you!
